Microsoft, Activision, and Infinity Ward studio have officially announced a new part of the Call of Duty series — this year gamers are anticipating Modern Warfare 4, the main theme of which, Call of Duty 2026 will feature war on the Korean peninsula: insider reveals important details of the new shooter, will be the conflict on the Korean Peninsula.
What is known
The developers showed an impressive trailer in which South Korean cities are subjected to massive missile strikes from North Korea, causing them to plunge into blackout and chaos. The main storyline focuses on a group of American soldiers who will have to support young Korean fighters. Interestingly, the legendary Captain Price returns to the narrative, who is not involved in the global conflict but is waging his own war.
Besides Korea, gamers will visit New York, Paris, and Mumbai, where large-scale combat operations will also unfold, which, as per the tradition of the Modern Warfare series, will be accompanied by spectacular chases, dramatic plot twists, and dynamic character relationships. However, this only concerns the campaign storyline, as the developers have not yet disclosed details about multiplayer, whose first details will be revealed on June 7 — this date is mentioned at the end of the trailer, but it is already known that the DMZ mode will return to the game.
When to expect
The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will take place on October 23 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series — this is the first part of the series to ignore PS4 and Xbox One. Importantly, the game will be released for the first time in the series on Nintendo Switch 2.
Pre-orders are already open, the standard edition costs $70, and the expanded package is priced at $100.
