Switch 2 is picking up serious mature-rated firepower. Two Polish studios announced ports at last week's Nintendo Direct, pushing the hybrid console further into soulslike and horror territory that Nintendo hardware has rarely touched before. Both games come from developers with proven track records — and one arrives in weeks.

The cyberpunk horror

Bloober Team's Observer: System Redux hits the Switch 2 eShop on June 18 at $39.99, per Gematsu. A 25% pre-order discount is live now and runs through July 7, dropping the price to around $30. The game casts the late Rutger Hauer as detective Daniel Lazarski, a neural detective who hacks into the dying minds of murder victims in a decaying 2084 Poland. It's a slow, atmospheric thriller — closer to Blade Runner than a jump-scare shooter.

The Switch 2 version supports the Joy-Con 2 mouse feature, letting you navigate menus and environments with pointer controls rather than a thumbstick. Optional motion controls are also included for players who want extra immersion.

The soulslike sequel

CI Games confirmed Lords of the Fallen II for Switch 2 alongside PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, targeting a fall 2026 window. This is the first time any Lords of the Fallen game has appeared on a Nintendo platform, according to Games Press. The 2023 reboot — a demanding dark-fantasy action RPG in the Elden Ring mold — surpassed 8 million players, which clearly gave CI Games confidence to go wide on the sequel's platform list.

The Switch 2 build runs on Unreal Engine 5 with Nanite and Lumen — the rendering tech that powers dense geometry and dynamic lighting in modern AAA games. CI Games says it's targeting a stable 30fps in both handheld and docked modes. No specific launch date or pricing has been confirmed yet.

What this means for Switch 2

The Nintendo Direct showcased a broader push toward mature, demanding games — Capcom's Devil May Cry 5, Dragon's Dogma 2, and Korean hits Lies of P and Stellar Blade were also announced. The two Polish titles fit that same pattern: studios betting that Switch 2's hardware can carry experiences that previously needed a PlayStation or a gaming PC. For Observer, you can test that theory in a few weeks.
