How will ASUS ROG Phone 5S be different from ASUS ROG Phone 5

We have already written many times that ASUS is preparing to release the gaming smartphone ROG Phone 5S. Now we know how the new product will be different from the current generation.

What are the differences

So, according to the insider, the device will get three key differences. First - the new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 +. The chip is an overclocked version of the usual Snapdragon 888.

In addition, the novelty will boast support for refresh rate of 90 Hz. That is, if the ROG Phone 5 screen can run at 60 Hz, 120 Hz and 144 Hz, then the ROG Phone 5S will have it at 60 Hz, 90 Hz, 120 Hz and 144 Hz.

The last difference of the new product will be the support of virtual RAM. If rumors are to be believed, the ROG Phone 5S will have up to 18GB of RAM. Of that, 12GB will be physical and 6GB will be virtual.

As for the other specs, they should remain the same: an OLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass, a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support, a 24MP front-facing camera and a 64MP + 13MP + 5MP triple main camera.

When to expect

There is no official announcement date for ASUS ROG Phone 5S yet, but rumor has it that the smartphone could be unveiled as early as today, August 16.
