Xiaomi forced to apologize to users for not being allowed to test MIUI 12.5

On the eve of the editorial gg reported that Xiaomi banned many users from testing MIUI 12.5 firmware, because they did not evaluate the software last week. After a while, the company had to apologize and explain the reasons behind its actions.

What happened?

After MIUI 12.5 was excluded from the beta testing program, users started complaining to Xiaomi's CEO on Weibo. The company's public relations representative later apologized and said that MIUI developers would "provide a reasonable response" soon.

As it turns out, with the release of Xiaomi Community 3.0, the manufacturer has changed the internal software testing procedure. In the new community version, users have to complete weekly tasks within a set deadline. These include evaluating the shell, writing feedback about it and suggestions for improvement.

In case of failure to meet the set tasks, users will be removed from testing the firmware, which, in fact, happened. At that, the users report that they were not informed about the changes in the rules.
