Apple TV+ standalone app appears on LG's 2016 and 2017 smart TVs

Apple has been rolling out the Apple TV app to various platforms, including smart TVs, gaming consoles and third-party streaming devices like Amazon Fire Stick or Roku. This time, the company has started rolling out the "Apple TV+" app for older LG TVs with the webOS operating system.

The standard Apple TV app is available on LG TVs with webOS 2018 and newer. The new Apple TV+ app is specifically for 2016 and 2017 models.

Although the name and logo are different, the actual app interface is identical to the TV app - except that you can only watch TV+ author content. The "Watch Now" and other iTunes Store tabs are simply missing.
