Google is testing Follow, a feature that allows you to subscribe to receive the latest content directly in the Chrome browser. It was announced by Adrienne Porter Felt, who is director of mobile browser development, on her Twitter page.
As of today, users of Android devices can take part in the test. For iOS, the new feature should be available early next year. A desktop version is also planned, but no release date has been announced yet.
The new feature is actually an RSS feed and allows users to subscribe to sites of their choice. Google is positioning it as an improved version of the Discovery tab, the content of which is selected by the user, rather than algorithms with elements of artificial intelligence.
Follow is currently available in Chrome 94 for Android. To activate it, you need to go to the browser flags page
chrome://flags, manually activate this experimental option and restart Chrome.
