Pat Gelsinger: Intel wants to get back into Apple computers

Apple's transition to its own processors in Mac computers was a big blow for Intel. But the leading chipmaker has not yet come to terms with the loss of such a key customer as the Cupertino-based company.

Even before Apple introduced new processors in MacBook Pro laptops, Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger said in an interview "Axios on HBO" that he intended to accelerate development of chips that would force Apple back to Intel. Moreover, Intel chips could appear in Apple products that have not previously used Intel, according to Gelsinger.

Meanwhile, the Intel boss noted Apple's efforts, praising the quality of the M1 series processors that debuted last November. According to him, Apple has done a good job in this area. One can only imagine what the head of Intel would have said if he was giving an interview already after yesterday's Apple presentation.

After yesterday's announcement of M1 Max processors and new computers based on them, Apple stock rose by 1.2%, while Intel securities went up by one token cent. But since there was no drop, this is already a kind of achievement for today's Intel.
