Surge P1, good cooling and the best display in the world - the first official information about Xiaomi 12 Pro

At the beginning of the week, Xiaomi actively advertised the Xiaomi 12 smartphone, the crown of which was publication official images of the upcoming news. Now the company has started promoting the Xiaomi 12 Pro.

What is known

We know a lot about the flagship, but so far from third-party, albeit reliable sources. More and more official information appears. For example, the manufacturer said that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will receive the best display ever.

The flagship will get a second generation OLED LTPO panel in 2K format. Here it is worth mentioning that we are talking about WQHD +, as in the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro (3200 x 1440 pixels). The display will receive E5 luminescent material and support for dynamic sweep frequency (10-120 Hz) technology. The supplier will be Samsung, while the screens for Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X will be produced by TCL.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, said that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen1 flagship will not overheat in games. He reassured users, noting that in 30 minutes in Honor of Kings at a frame rate of 120 Hz, the smartphone warmed up to 43.5 degrees.

Another feature of the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be the proprietary Surge P1 chip. It was created within 18 months, and investments in development amounted to about $ 15.5 million. At least, that's what the company itself said. The processor is responsible for the intelligent thermal management system, manages various types of loads, and ensures the safe operation of 120W charging. Yes, the power of wired charging will be a record (so far) 120 watts.

As a reminder, the Xiaomi 12 family will be presented on December 28th. The cost of the Pro version has not yet been specified, unlike Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X... The Pro version of the current generation began selling for $ 780.
