Astro Slide 5G - horizontal slider on Linux with QWERTY keyboard for $ 650

Planet Computers presented the Astro Slide 5G smartphone at CES 2022. It is a horizontal slider with support for Linux distributions and a QWERTY keyboard.

What is known

The British company said it had been working on the new product for two years. The smartphone supports the installation of the Android operating system. At CES 2022 in Las Vegas, they showed a version with Android 11 OS, Vivaldi web browser and pre-installed Planet Computers software.

Astro Slide 5G has a RockUp hinge that turns the novelty into a laptop. The keyboard supports both desktop and mobile modes, depending on the choice of which the display orientation depends. By the way, the screen itself has a FHD + resolution, a 6.39 ”diagonal and is built on the basis of an AMOLED matrix.

The hardware base of the smartphone is a 7nm Dimensity 800 chip, supplemented by 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. the drive holds 128 GB of data. We also note cameras with a resolution of 48 MP and 13 MP, a 4000 mAh battery with 30-W wireless charging and 10-W wireless charging.

Price

Astro Slide 5G cost $ 650. Planet Computers announced that sales of new items will begin at the end of the first quarter of this year.
