Apple unveiled M2 Pro and M2 Max processors - 5nm, up to 12 CPU cores and up to 38 GPU cores

Apple has unveiled two processors that will be used in laptops and Macs. The chips are called M2 Pro and M2 Max.

Here's What We Know

The manufacturer claims that the new items have the world's best performance per watt. Both processors are made on the norms of 5 nm technology of the second generation. They got a neural block with 16 cores and multimedia engine Apple.

The M2 Pro has 40 billion transistors. The chip area has increased by 20% compared to the M1 Pro and by 100% compared to the M2. The platform got up to 16/32 GB of memory with 200 GB/s bandwidth. The CPU is represented by 10 or 12 cores. Performance compared to the M1 Pro is increased by 20%.

The M2 Max is a more powerful system on a chip. It has 67 billion transistors (the M1 Max has 57 billion transistors) and supports installation of up to 96 GB of RAM. Bandwidth has been increased to 400 GB/s.

According to the manufacturer, the M2 Max and M2 Pro will give Apple's new laptops the ability to run for 22 hours without recharging. The chips are used in the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini, about which we will write separately.
