Philips announces Evnia 8000 OLED monitors from £1299

Philips has introduced two new OLED panel monitors. The new additions to the Evnia 8000 series.

Here's What We Know

The Evnia 34M2C8600 is equipped with a curved 10-bit WQHD OLED matrix with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. The diagonal is 34" and the refresh rate is 175Hz. The response time is 0.1ms. The matrix has a brightness of 450 nits, 99.3% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, 121.3% NTSC coverage, 148.8% sRGB and 97.8% Adobe RGB.

Philips equipped the monitor with two HDMI 2.0 connectors, one DP 1.4, USB-C with 9, W, USB-B and four USB-A. There's also a KVM switch that lets you use the monitor with two computers and two speakers with a combined power of 10W.

The more advanced Philips Evnia 42M2N8900 monitor also got a 10-bit OLED panel (flat), but increased the diagonal to 42" and the resolution to 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K ULTRA HD). Frame rate is an unusual 138Hz, response speed is 0.1ms and DCI-P3 colour gamut is 98.5%, NTSC is 110.3%, sRGB is 131.3% and Adobe RGB is 93.6%.

The power of each of the two speakers has been increased from 5W to 10W. Each supports DTS technology. The interface set is the same as in the smaller model, but HDMI 2.0 has been replaced with HDMI 2.1. A KVM switch is also present.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The Philips Evnia 34M2C8600 has a manufacturer's recommended price of £1299 and sales will start in February. The Philips Evnia 42M2N8900 is priced at £1499 and is on sale now.
