Samsung has allowed European users to self-repair smartphones, tablets and laptops

Samsung laptop, tablet and smartphone owners in Europe can now self-repair their devices. The company has expanded the programme, which was launched in the US in 2022 in conjunction with iFixit.

Here's What We Know

Following the US, Samsung added the Republic of Korea, Mexico and Brazil to the programme. This happened at the beginning of 2023. Now the programme is active in another three dozen countries in Europe. Users will be able to buy original parts and will receive a repair manual.

Users will be able to replace components themselves in the Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 foldable smartphones, which were introduced last summer. Also on the list are the Galaxy S23 flagships, the budget model Galaxy A05s, Galaxy Tab S9 / A9 tablets and Galaxy Book2 Pro laptops.

Galaxy Book laptop owners can repair case covers, replace the screen, touchpad, fingerprint scanner and speakers. In Galaxy smartphones, display, back panel, speaker, keys, USB-C and SIM tray replacements are available.
