Nine cores, improved performance and new graphics: insider shares details of Tensor G3 chip for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

Insider and dataminer @Za_Raczke has shared details about the new Tensor G3 processor for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones.

Here's What We Know

According to the leak, the processor will get drastic changes compared to the current Tensor G2 SoC. The chip will have updated ARMv9 cores with a new layout: 4 + 4 + 1, instead of 4 + 2 + 2. That is the processor will be nine-core with four Cortex-A510 cores, four Cortex-A715 and one Cortex-X3 core. Thanks to this layout, the performance of the SoC will increase.

The Tensor G3 will also boast ten-core Mali-G715 graphics and a new AI processing unit (TPU aka Tensor Processing Unit). The chip will support UFS 4.0 memory.
