Critics have been pleased with Hogwarts Legacy and are already calling it a contender for best game of the year
Hogwarts Legacy is sure to be one of the best games of 2023, a conclusion that can be drawn from the reviews that have already been published on aggregators.
Here's What We Know
The role-playing game based on the Harry Potter universe has received really high scores:
- On Metacritic, the PS5 version got 86 points, the Xbox Series got 89 points and the PC version got 83 points;
- on Opencritic, the Avalanche Software game received a score of 86.
Reviewers agree that Hogwarts Legacy is one of the best, if not the best, game in the Joanne Rowling universe. It has great atmosphere, quality visual style, exciting gameplay, interesting characters and a lot of content. By the way, there is so much content, that the full walkthrough of Hogwarts Legacy may take more than one hundred hours. The critics also added an excellent combat system to the list of attractions.
The main plot seemed to be dull and uninteresting to many of the experts, but they noticed, that it doesn't spoil the whole impression from Hogwarts Legacy.
The game has also some minor shortcomings and questionable decisions, but in general the game won't disappoint the gamers.
When We Can Expect It
Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10 on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be released on April 4, while the game will be available on Nintendo Switch from July 25.
Extended Edition owners will get access to the game as early as February 7.
