The battle of the giants is reaching a new level.

Eleven Democratic and Republican members of Congress have appealed to the administration of President Joe Biden.

Here's What We Know

The congressmen are asking for attention to the situation around Microsoft and Sony. According to politicians, the Japanese corporation intentionally hinders the activities of Microsoft and other American IT-companies and video game developers in the market in Japan.

The congressmen point out that 98% of the game consoles market in Japan is occupied by PlayStation and at the same time Sony is sabotaging the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, which could potentially strengthen the position of the American company in the gaming market, including Japan.

The Japanese government's current policy of refusing to prosecute when it comes to Sony seems to be a serious obstacle to US exports, with real consequences for Microsoft, as well as many other US developers and game publishers who have trading activities around the world, but see their revenues in Japan reduced by the practice.

US Trade Representative Katherine Tai said that the congressmen's statement will be considered soon.
