Amazon Prime streaming service has announced a trailer of its new series - «Tales From the Loop».

What TV series is about

This is a sci-fi series based on digital paintings of the Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag. He works in the genre of retro-futurism and combines images of Sweden suburbs of the 80-90s with sci-fi components - robots and advanced technology.

"My art - is, in fact, a landscape painting with sci-fi themes. I try to approach these scenes as if they are real, - and I do actually see these things. I find more inspiration in landscape artists and works of art of the wild, than in science fiction, although I am inspired by it as well", - Stålenhag says in his interview.

The plot of the series is set in an alternate world of the 80s and tells the story about inhabitants of the town near the Loop - a machine to study mysteries of the universe. Some strange things happen to these people now and then.

Stålenhag himself is an executive producer together with Matt Reeves. Showrunner - Nathaniel Halpern, responsible for the fantastic "Legion". The roles are performed by Jonathan Pryce, Rebecca Hall, Paul Schneider and others, and the music was written by the composer Philip Glass.

The Premiere of «Tales From the Loop» will take place on April 3 on Amazon Prime. There are 8 episodes in the first season.
