Are you used to taking the Internet for granted? Some 4 billion people can only envy you. According to the UN, 57% of the world's population still do not have regular access to the Internet. The problem, first of all, concerns inhabitants of poor countries and territories outside the city limits, where it is technically difficult or too expensive to build a traditional infrastructure. From a business perspective, the IT giants are missing out on a huge chunk of the market pie, if not the most nutritious, for sure. To turn even more people into customers, big tech companies are hard at work figuring out new ways to deliver the internet. A vanguard of sorts has already formed, including Alphabet, Facebook, OneWeb and SpaceX with their ambitious ideas. Balloons, satellites, lasers and drones are being used.

3D printing is finding more and more practical applications. We have already seen printed dentures and a bunch of other interesting stuff. At the Dubai Airshow, the company Stratasys  and Aurora  showed a drone, which is interesting because it uses a jet engine and at the same time 80% of the parts are printed using a 3D printer.

More and more interesting developments appear with the use of the virtual reality helmet Oculus Rift. Regular readers of gg may remember that my search for a new laptop three months ago culminated in the purchase of a 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina screen. That said, while I was certainly in a state of euphoria over the purchase of an expensive new toy, I just didn't have the courage to write about all the many inconveniences I encountered during the transition to a new ecosystem for me.

ASUS likes to experiment with the form factors and design of its devices. And at CES 2024 was presented another interesting experiment, the notebook ASUS Zenbook Duo (2024). The main peculiarity is the use of two identical 14-inch OLED-displays ASUS Lumina OLED with 3K resolution, 120 Hz update rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. They are interconnected by a hinge with a maximum angle of 180°, which allows you to convert them into one large 19.8-inch monitors. Thanks to the built-in stand and removable keyboard, it can be used in vertical and horizontal orientation. In general, the device can be used in several scenarios: laptop, two screens, desktop PC and joint work. ASUS ScreenXpert software is available for dual-display operation.
