OPPO expands the list of smartphones that will receive the ColorOS 12 update

Most recently, OPPO revealed, OPPO reveals which smartphones will receive ColorOS 12 update from Android 12 in December. But time does not stand still, so if December 28 is considered the date start release ColorOS 12 for several more models, then in fact many of them will receive an update in January. Let's take a closer look.

Currently, the only OPPO device to receive an update to the Android 12 ColorOS stable build is the Find X3 Pro. The flagship in the OPPO lineup is being gradually updated around the world after the extended beta testing phase ends.

It looks like we'll see an update on four more devices before the end of December, with the ColorOS 12 beta open to three more. This means that by the end of 2021, OPPO will have a total of eight devices with the most recent version of Android 12. While not that many, it is a significant improvement over previous years.

Release

According to the timeline, last year's Find X2 series will begin refreshing from December 20, while the Reno 6 Pro and Diwali Edition limited edition will receive ColorOS 12 from December 22. Standard Reno 6 will start receiving OTAs from December 28th:

  • Oppo Find X2
  • Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G
  • Oppo Ren 6 Pro Diwali Edition
  • Oppo Reno 6 5G

Beta

Beta testing ColorOS 12then the Reno 5 Pro and F19 Pro + will start receiving the update from December 10th. Finally, OPPO A74 5G will be able to sign up for Android 12 and ColorOS 12 testing from December 28th:

  • Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G
  • Oppo F19 Pro +
  • Oppo A74 5G

There is one significant fly in the ointment in all this: these plans have been confirmed only for India. It is likely that the European and other global regions will soon follow. In any case, in comparison with previous news, which spoke exclusively about the Chinese market, this is already a noticeable progress and cause for hope.
