Israel will receive Iron Dome air defence systems from the US. The transfer of the air defence systems will be part of the aid for the fight against Hamas.

Here's What We Know

The US will send all air defence systems owned by the Army to Israel. The military currently has two Iron Dome batteries stored at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Sending the Iron Dome solves two problems at once. First, the U.S. will provide aid to Israel. Second, the U.S. Army can finally get rid of the surface-to-air missiles, in which it has little interest.

About a fortnight ago, Israel requested the transfer of additional Tamir missiles to the Iron Dome air defence system. This was a precautionary measure in case of massive rocket attacks by Hamas. According to new reports, the US will transfer 300 interceptors to Israel.
