"Uragan", "Tornado-G" and the legendary "Solntsevyok" - the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine named the best trophies that were captured by the Armed Forces
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published on Facebook the top 3 multiple-launch rocket systems that were captured by the Armed Forces.
What we know
The third place was taken by the BM-27 Uragan. The complex can shoot at a distance of up to 35 km. the 220-mm multiple rocket launcher uses different types of ammunition and is designed to destroy manpower, equipment, artillery units, SAMs, communication nodes and command posts.
In second place is the Tornado-G MLRS. This is an upgraded version of the Grad multiple launch rocket system. Russia notes that its combat effectiveness has been increased 15-fold. The MLRS is mounted on a KamAZ-740 chassis. The launcher has 40 rails and firing range of more than 40 km.
Finally, the best system that the Ukrainian military has managed to capture is the TOS-1A Solntsevyok. Russian propaganda has made legends about this heavy firing system. It fires thermobaric ammunition. The volley of 24 shells can cover an area of 200 x 200 m. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that the Ukrainian armed forces managed to seize "several units" of the TOS-1A Solntsevyok.
By the way, in the photos published by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, one can see the Russian Tor surface-to-air missile system. It is dragged by a tractor.
