The U.S. Air Force received its first batch of MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters.

Here's What We Know

Leonardo and Boeing have delivered four test helicopters to replace the UH-1N Twin Huey. In total, the United States Air Force will receive 80 helicopters, training systems and additional equipment as part of a $2.4 billion contract that was signed in early fall 2018.

The MH-139A Grey Wolf is a multipurpose helicopter that is based on the Italian AW139 by AugustaWestland, a part of Leonardo. Its competitive advantage over the Sikorsky HH-60U is its low price. The helicopter is designed to carry troops and is equipped with a system of protection against enemy missiles.
