A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about the use of the British howitzer L119 and how it is superior to the Soviet guns.
What is known
At the end of July the UK handed over the 105 mm howitzer to Ukraine L 119. Ukrainian servicemen had been training for several weeks to use the artillery pieces for exercises in the United Kingdom.
According to one Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier, who had previously worked with the Soviet D-30 gun, the British howitzer can be prepared for combat much faster. The advantage of L119 is the ability to use active-reactive shells with a range of up to 19 km. The D-30 fires at a range of 15 km. In addition, the British 105 mm artillery unit can use light and smoke shells.
