Judging by the latest Nintendo Direct, the colorful shooter Splatoon 3 is full of cool content! We'll tell you the highlights.

Modes

The main mode is Turf War. In it, two teams of four try to paint over as much territory as possible for three minutes. Accordingly, the side that covers the largest percentage of the map with paint wins.

Other PvP modes: the capture of certain areas, defense of the mobile tower, moving the item to the right point and an analogue of American soccer.

In addition, a PvE-mode is announced, where four players will have to fight off fish waves and collect fish eggs.

Maps

There will be 12 maps available at launch, including city streets, the market, the wilds and the bridge. Some maps have items that move, like platforms that go up and down.

New maps will be added for free upon release.

Weapons

All the basic weapons from previous parts will be available, but there will be new ones as well. Among the latter are the bow, which can shoot multiple projectiles at once, and the sword, splashing paint over a short distance.

In addition, special weapons will return. Here we can't do without novelties either - for example, you will be able to activate:

  • Refrigerator with drinks, which give bonuses like acceleration.
  • A thing that periodically emits waves around itself, marking opponents and damaging them. These waves can be jumped over.
  • A shark, which is quickly carried away (and you sit on top of it) in a straight line and explodes, splashing paint around and doing damage.

Weapons can be bought in the store for a special currency given out for level up and regular use of the same rifle.

Card Game

In the city you can play a card game in the spirit of Turf War. The cards depict terraformed pieces with which to fill as much space on the field as possible. More details will be announced another time.

Splatoon 3 will see the light of day on September 9 on Nintendo Switch. There will be a big paid DLC upon release, and the authors will be releasing item catalogs (some sort of combat pass) every three months for two years.
