Twitstorm: Twitter allowed to create message branches

A month ago, Twitter doubled the length of tweets, but sometimes even 280 characters are not enough to express their thoughts. To make life easier for users, the service added the ability to publish chains of related tweets in one fell swoop. In the company they are called branches.

To create a branch, just click on the "+" button in the tweet writing window. Thus, you can add up to 25 messages, although the team has not completely determined the limit. Images, surveys and hyphas can be added to each such tweet. In the tape, they are displayed in reverse chronological order and connected by a line. After the publication, the chain can be supplemented by expanding it and clicking "Add another tweet".

A series of two or three messages are displayed in full, and longer ones are cropped. To see all the tweets, select "Show this thread".

When and where?

The new feature works in the web version of Twitter, as well as in official applications for Android and iOS. Branches will be available to all users of the service in the coming weeks.

The format of "twitters" has long appeared on Twitter, but to create a series of tweets, users had to retweet the previous message with a comment. According to the company's representatives, hundreds of thousands of branches are published daily in the service (remember at least flash mob "One like - one fact"). There is one question for developers: when will we be allowed to edit tweets?
