CEO of Larian Studios: "Storytelling games are not dead, they just have to be of high quality"

Sven Winke, CEO of Larian Studios, known for its successful role-playing games such as Divinity: Original Sin and Baldur's Gate 3, spoke about the future of story-based games. Winke emphasised that despite periodic statements about the "death" of story-based games, they remain relevant if they are of high quality.
Here's What We Know
In his post on Twitter, Winke said: "It's that time of year again when the big story games are declared dead. Use your imagination. They are not dead. They just have to be good."
He also expressed concern about industry influencers claiming that there is no future for big single-player games, as such statements can deter investment in this segment. Winke emphasised that such sentiments can have negative consequences for the development of high-quality story-driven projects.
And given that Baldur's Gate 3 won Game of the Year, Winke knows what he's talking about.
