Larian Studios The final eighth update for Baldur's Gate III is now available on all platforms: the game's support has come to an end and looks to the future with confidence. It is known that the Baldur's Gate developers aren't sitting idle, with Larian Studios admitting that they're already working on two games on their own IPs, but their release will have to wait for a long time.

The head of the studio Swen Vincke took part in a podcast on the GameSpot channel, during which he revealed his plans.

Here's What We Know

Swen Vincke reminded that game development is a long process, and with Larian Studios' approach, it's taking even longer. The CEO hopes to be able to reveal details of his "insanely ambitious" game by 2030, but until then his team will be working on two projects in parallel.

Vinke explained that he has never organised work on two major games at once and can't guarantee that everything will go according to his plan, but reminded that at the pre-production stage, most of the developers don't get enough clear tasks and, in fact, sit idle while a small team works out the game concept. To prevent this from happening, Larian decided that it would be more sensible to create two games at once, so that time is not wasted and the team finds its own use.

For the same purpose, Larian is creating a "story bank", so that when the development of the game moves to the active stage, the writers will have a stock of story lines.

Sven Vincke jokingly said that if Larian Studios is not close to releasing a new game by 2030, his wife will divorce him. Well, now we'll have to keep an eye on the Belgian developer's personal life as well.
