Hot summer at The First Descendant: new season, collaboration with NieR: Automata, hoverbikes, and a bright heroine

At PAX East 2025, the developers of the PvE shooter The First Descendant announced a large-scale update of Breakthrough, showing the charismatic heroine Bunny on a new hoverbike.
Here's What We Know
This summer, The First Descendant will receive the third season called Breakthrough, which will bring several high-profile novelties. The main one is the huge Axion Plains location, where players will face new threats: from artificial creatures to mutated monsters. For the first time, a hoverbike will be available for fast movement in this open world, which can be obtained simply by entering the game and upgraded to unlock acceleration and jumps.
Nexon paid special attention to the character Bunny, an electric rider who became the face of the season. It was her spectacular appearance on a hoverbike that became the main video of the presentation: the developers showed Bunny getting on a bike with grace twice, and the camera focused on her stylish image and anime aesthetics.
In addition to transport innovations, Breakthrough will introduce a new playable class - Nell with telekinetic abilities, as well as swords with unique styles and a special dungeon for fans of melee combat. Another feature of the season is the large-scale Colossus Field Raid for eight players, where you will have to fight the giant boss Wall Crasher against the backdrop of the open spaces of Axion Plains.
There were also some high-profile collaborations: for the first time in the game's history, Nexon announced a crossover with NieR: Automata. Players can enjoy exclusive skins inspired by 2B, 9S, and A2, as well as unique decorative elements, including a "damaged" version of 2B.
Another novelty is a special social area called Lounge, where players can relax, chat and customise their Descendants in a personal space.
