Roguelike puzzle game Blue Prince got a big update, but you don't have to wait for DLC

Dogubomb and Raw Fury have released patch 1.04.5 for the puzzle game Blue Prince, which brings a number of important fixes. However, the game's director Tonda Ross made a statement in a post about the update on Steam that may upset fans: there are no plans to release DLC or new content for Blue Prince after the next 1.10 update.
Here's What We Know
Blue Prince is a roguelike puzzle game in which players explore the estate left by their great-grandfather. In search of the hidden 46th room, the mansion changes every night, and players have to develop new floor plans every day while exploring it. Critics have praised its structure and interesting puzzles, making Blue Prince one of the highest-rated games of 2025.
One of the most important improvements in the 1.04.5 patch is a fix for a save issue on PS5 that caused some players to not save their progress correctly. Other bugs that blocked progress or caused softlocks were also fixed in this patch, and the wording of some late-game puzzles was updated for clarity. The full list of changes in the patch can be found below, but please be careful as it contains spoilers for Blue Prince.
List of changes in patch 1.04.5:
- Fixed a rollback bug that prevented the game from saving on PlayStation for some users.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented players from entering the highest rank through a third-party collider.
- Fixed a bug that could cause steps to be lost when exploring the east sealed hallway door while in the gym.
- Fixed a potential collider softlock that could occur after digging for treasure in the monastery.
- Fixed a potential collider softlock that could occur after digging for treasure in the closet.
- The experiment "Get 1 key, 1 gem or 1 gold (randomly selected)" has been changed to "Get 1 key, 1 gem or 1
- dice (chosen at random)".
- All cases of spelling "Christoph" have been unified to a consistent spelling.
- Fixed a typo in the glossary entry for "Directory".
- Changes related to the late stage of the game (SPOILER ALERT!):
- The boat travelling kinematics can now be skipped again (this was disabled due to a softlock, which has also been fixed).
- The lever pull kinematics can now be skipped.
- Additional security checks have been added to address reported softlocks that some users have experienced in the Casino.
- The 7-letter name in the Gallery now accepts unexpected regional spellings as a valid solution.
- The safe in the Boudoir now accepts one alternative regional solution.
- Fixed a bug in the Maid's Room and Maid's Quarters that sometimes caused wages to not appear.

More spoilers:
- Changed the wording of Question 33 for clarity. The solution remains the same.
- Corrected mathematical symbols in Question 46 for clarity. The solution remains unchanged.
- Unified date formatting in terminal logs for consistency.
- Moved the note (Blue Tents) in the "found floor plan" to fix a bug that was causing it to occasionally not show up (no change to the content).
- The experiment that "lowers the water level" will now be replaced with a variant of the experiment that "raises the water level" if there is currently no water to lower.
- The "Get 1 key for every 40 steps" experiment has been changed to "Get 1 key for every 30 steps".
- The experiment "Get 1 key, 1 gem or 1 gold (randomly selected)" has been changed to "Get 1 key, 1 gem or 1 dice (randomly selected)".
- On the first day, the bedroom chest will no longer appear only after the first sketch.
Some upcoming additions coming after this patch have been announced, although Ross is keen to keep expectations low. It has been confirmed that patch 1.10 will be the last major content update for Blue Prince. Until then, the game will receive additions such as a colour assist mode, controller reassignment, widescreen support, new cinematics, UI and user experience improvements, as well as mysterious additions such as an "overrated arcade game" and a "curious pet cat", and much more. After that, any future updates for Blue Prince will be bug fixes only.
So, when the 1.10 patch for Blue Prince is released in the coming months, the game will be completely complete in terms of content. Therefore, you shouldn't worry about waiting for DLC or more significant updates to dive into the game. Blue Prince is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is included in the Game Pass Ultimate and PS Plus Extra game catalogues. This is a great opportunity to experience one of the most interesting indie puzzle games of the year.
