Here's What We Know
In the spectacular video, viewers are shown how Onimusha's protagonist, ronin Miyamoto Musashi, masterfully deals with the Genma monsters, which crawl out of the ground and terrorise Edo-era Japan, which is shrouded in ominous clouds of Evil.
Images confirm that in Onimusha: Way of the Sword gamers will be offered a dynamic and deep combat system, which will be perfect even for beginners, because it will not be overcomplicated.
Recall, the developers created the appearance of the main character in the image of the famous Japanese film actor Toshiro Mifune, who was the star of samurai films.
When We Can Expect It
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is expected to release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Flashback
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will not feature an open world, as the game is being created with maximum focus on the older parts of the series, including Onimusha: Warlords. Players will be offered to defend against demons in spacious, semi-open locations, switching between them as the story progresses.
Despite the lack of an open world, Way of the Sword will be the longest part of Onimusha: Onimusha: Warlords: Warlords: Warlords will take more than 20 hours to complete, and with additional activities it will take much longer.
The Onimusha series is based on real historical events and personalities, which are organically integrated into a dark fantasy universe
