Helldivers 2 gets a Warhammer 40K crossover on August 12
Helldivers 2 is crossing over with Warhammer 40,000 on August 12, 2026, when developer Arrowhead Game Studios drops a new paid Warbond called "Castellan's Creed." The pack is built around the Cadian Kasrkin — elite soldiers of the Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) — rather than the more famous Space Marines. That's actually a better fit: Helldivers are expendable human troops, not demigods in power armor.
The gear
The Legendary Warbond includes six confirmed items alongside cosmetics. On the weapons side: the R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, the P/40-K Bolt Pistol as a sidearm, a 40-K Meltagun stratagem (a called-in anti-armor option), and the G/40-K Meltamine grenade. Armor comes in two variants — the medium TG-8 Sharpshooter and the heavy TG-122 Demo-Trooper — plus a cape and additional cosmetics, per TheSixthAxis.
There's a neat circularity here: Arrowhead has long cited Warhammer 40K as one of Helldivers' design inspirations, and now players can dress their troopers in the aesthetic that helped shape the game. Director Mikael Eriksson confirmed the team are "diehard Warhammer fans," per GosuGamers, with the partnership announced at the Warhammer Skulls 2026 showcase.
The cost
"Legendary Warbond" means a premium tier — expect around 1,500 Super Credits, roughly $10 USD (approximately £8–9 in the UK), based on previous Legendary Warbond pricing, confirms Windows Central. That's a step up from standard Warbonds. Arrowhead hasn't officially confirmed a price, and Super Credits can be earned slowly through free Warbonds for players who'd rather not spend outright. Notably, Helldivers 2 has a history of review-bomb backlash over monetization decisions, so how the community receives this pricing will matter.
All items appear to be cosmetic or cosmetic-adjacent — the Meltagun stratagem is a gameplay addition, but Arrowhead has generally kept Warbond content from creating hard pay-to-win gaps. Patch notes at launch will clarify.
