U.S. Space Forces will use Q-UGV robots at Cape Canaveral

Robotic dogs Q-UGV produced by Ghost Robotics will operate at Cape Canaveral.

What we know

This was announced by the Department of Defense of the United States. The Space Forces will use the robots for automating damage assessment during rocket launches and for patrolling the territory. The agency believes that the use of Q-UGV will provide significant savings in man-hours.

The robots are equipped for video and audio communication and have the corresponding software. Q-UGV can operate in a fully autonomous mode, but also provides the ability to remotely control the devices with voice commands and the controller.

Q-UGVs are used at several U.S. Air Force bases. The company's robots were first used in 2022 at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.
