Game controller support and 4K resolution: Google has updated Play Games for PC

Google has announced a major update to its Play Games service for PC.

What's new

First of all, the service received new games, including Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. In addition, Google has added search and 4K resolution support to Play Games. Also, Play Games users can now play games using Xbox S|X, Xbox One, PS5 DualSense or PS4 DualShock controllers.

Flashback

Google introduced Play Games for PC in 2022. Since then, the service has been in beta. It can be tested by users in over 100 countries. To use the service, your PC must meet the following requirements:

  • Windows 10 (v2004) or Windows 11
  • SSD
  • A gaming-grade GPU(list)
  • 8 logical processor cores
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 20GB of free disc space
  • Windows administrator account
  • Hardware virtualisation
