Twitter's "Employees Fired by Musk" turned out to be Pranksters: Media took the prank at face value

In recent days, the main news item was Elon Musk's purchase of the social network Twitter. So yesterday, journalists' attention was drawn to the allegedly fired employees of the company, who in fact turned out to be actors-jokers.

Details

The video shows two men standing outside the entrance to Twitter's San Francisco building with boxes of stuff. They claimed to be employees of the company who were fired by Musk. Despite some interesting details, major media outlets, including CNBC and Bloomberg, published a video of the interview.

So what is the evidence that this is a prank? First, one of the men identified himself as a software engineer named Rahul Ligma, which is a reference to a famous joke. Secondly, the characters in the story said some strange things, such as that Michelle Obama would not have been born if Musk had owned Twitter. Thirdly, the engineering teams do not and did not have employees with such names.

But most importantly, the prank was laughed at by Musk himself, mentioning it in his account.

Note that only the "dismissal" of these people turned out to be a fake - Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion and immediately fired the previous management.
