Hypocrisy and meanness of Russian gamers: the developers of «S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl» receive absurd ultimatum and threaten to leak dozens of gigabytes of game data

An absurd appeal to the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. appeared on a popular Russian social network, whose name we are not mentioning for reasons of principle. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which is blatant blackmail.

Here's What We Know

A group calling itself "The Herald of That Same Stalker" has claimed to have "dozens of gigabytes of data" about the hotly anticipated shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, including plot spoilers, maps, descriptions of staged scenes, locations and more.

Hypocrisy and meanness of Russian gamers: the developers of «S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl» receive absurd ultimatum and threaten to leak dozens of gigabytes of game data-2

The Ukrainian studio was given an ultimatum by the russian miscreants:

  1. apologise to Russian and Belorussian gamers "for undignified behaviour" (apparently meaning the developer's refusal to officially release the game in these countries and the lack of Russian voice-over);
  2. addition of Russian localization, if not at release, then "at least in the form of an add-on".

If these conditions are not met by 15 March, all materials will be posted online.

Against the background of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, thousands of war crimes, cities destroyed to the ground and a huge number of civilian casualties in Ukraine, demands to "come to their senses and apologise" look ridiculous and hypocritical.

Recall that one of the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. died defending his country. - Vladimir "Fresh" Yezhov, and in memory of that hero, we call upon gamers all over the world to ignore the leaked game materials, should they ever find their way online, and urge the developers to resist the blackmail.
