Some of the new elements in Elden Ring: Nightreign is not about chasing trends, but about a new experience for players, FromSoftware says

The developers from FromSoftware assure that their new project Elden Ring: Nightreign is not an attempt to follow modern trends, but instead aims to offer players a concentrated and unique gaming experience.
Here's What We Know
The game's director, Junya Ishizaki, in an interview with PC Gamer magazine, noted that the team wanted to create a game that would combine elements of RPG, exploration, character development and epic boss battles in a more concise form. He emphasised that the goal was to achieve a new sense of achievement that differs from the studio's previous projects.
Ishizaki also noted that FromSoftware has never shied away from using elements that may be popular in the industry, as long as they fit well in their games. He emphasised that the decision to add new mechanics was dictated by the desire to create fresh and exciting gameplay, rather than following fashion trends.
Elden Ring: Nightreign is a three-player co-operative game that combines roguelike elements and focuses on survival. Players will be able to choose from eight unique characters, each with their own abilities and ultimatum attacks. Each session will last for three game days, during which the team will fight monsters and bosses on a constantly changing map.
The game is scheduled for release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
