Sony has made its demands to Microsoft regarding Call of Duty after the acquisition of Activision. No exclusive content, bonuses, modes and better optimization

The news that Microsoft is going to acquire Activision Blizzard does not subside. Recently, Microsoft in the latest statement to the British competition regulator (CMA) said that it Microsoft wanted to add its Xbox Game Pass service to PlayStation, but Sony blocked this proposal to PlayStation, but Sony "blocked" this proposal. It can be seen that the creators of PlayStation are not happy with what their competitor is doing. So now Sony has named its demands to Microsoft regarding Call of Duty after the acquisition of Activision.

Here's What We Know

According to Forbes, the 76-page CMA report has a section on what Sony demands from Microsoft if they can successfully close the deal to acquire Activision Blizzard. Among them:

  • Microsoft must not add any additional content to the Xbox version of Call of Duty.
  • Microsoft should not give Call of Duty better optimization on Xbox consoles.
  • Microsoft should not offer a number of attractive bonuses for Call of Duty through Xbox Game Pass. For example, exclusive modes, features and even add the game to Game Pass.

The situation is actually absurd, because Sony is working to ensure that Call of Duty on PlayStation has exclusive content. For example, Modern Warfare 2 will have an exclusive zombie mode, operator and all sorts of bonuses. Therefore, only the CMA decision can solve all these scandals.

Flashback

In January, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard - the creators of Call of Duty, Overwatch, World of Warcraft and other franchises. The transaction value is $68.7 billion, which is significantly more than the $7.5 billion that Microsoft spent on the acquisition of Bethesda back in 2020. The deal is the largest in the history of the gaming industry. The deal is planned to be closed in 2023.
