DJI unexpectedly introduced the Mavic 3M quadcopter with multispectral sensors and five cameras

DJI has expanded the Mavic 3 family of quadcopters with a new model. It is called DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral or simply Mavic 3M.

Here's What We Know

The novelty is the third commercial drone of the third generation after Mavic 3E and Mavic 3T, which were introduced recently. DJI Mavic 3M is equipped with a 20 MP main camera built on a CMOS sensor of 4/3" optical format. Instead of a telephoto lens, which is installed in the usual Mavic 3, our hero got four cameras with a resolution of 5 MP, which are designed to capture light with different wavelengths.

The drone got an RTK-module, which is able to provide high positioning accuracy - up to 1 and 1.5 cm horizontally and vertically, respectively. In the official video, the company demonstrated that the quadcopter is focused on the use in agriculture.

DJI Mavic 3M can climb to an altitude of 6 km above sea level. The maximum flight distance will be 32 km, and the time - 43 minutes. The drone weighs almost 1 kg. A full battery charge is enough to fly over an area of up to 2 square kilometers.

The price and launch date of DJI Mavic 3M has not yet been specified. The Mavic 3E and Mavic 3T went on sale for €3149 / $3810 and €4919 / $5780 respectively.
